Buying Face Cream

I have really really good skin.

I usually use clean and clear lotion and wash my face with just water.

Once in a blue moon i will steam it with tea tree oil and wash it with clean and clear foaming face wash.

I am 25 and i think it may be time to develop a regimine for anti-aging skincare to shrink pores and tighten skin.

My skin has treated me well, so i want to help it continue to do so.

What has worked best for you.

Its time to start buying face cream?

honestly, i wouldn’t start using it.

I’ve been using moisturizer for years thinking i was saving myself some grief later on, but I’m 20 and i look 27. my skin no longer produces its own oils. avoid it as long as you can!

The standard advice is applicable, eat well, drink water, exercise, keep healthy on the inside and that will be reflected on the outside. The best defence against aging skin is sunscreen. Nothing makes skin look old, blotchy and saggy faster than damage from the skin. Use a light non greasy moisturizer with a sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB and your skin will look younger longer. Also, retinols work, so does Alpha hydroxy acids, they both exfoliate the skin to allow fresh new skin to grow. I’m over 45 and my skin is still in reasonably good condition. You can”t really “tighten” the skin from the outside, that’s one of those lies the beauty industry uses to sell expensive creams that don’t really do much. Sunscreen and regular exfoliation is still the best. You might want to check out cosmetics and beauty expert Paul Begoun’s site. She wrote the book on what does and doesn’t work and she really is the best.

Here’s some of her best articles: and here’s the scoop on a product that’s hyped by several users (who are also sellers of mineral make-ups) on Yahoo answers. You might want to check the facts before believing the hype on mineral make-ups:

Her book “Don’t go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me” has reviews of products. list of cosmetics ingredients, list of products that works and products that don’t work and is a worth while investment for anyone who uses skin care products or cosmetics. She sorts through the hype, the fiction and gets to the truth. She’s single handedly trying to change the industry for the better.
